Like a lot of marketing professionals, you probably have your work and personal events scheduled in your Outlook calendar. But what about the slew of social/recreational activities you found on Facebook that you’re interested in attending?

There’s a simple way to add individual Facebook events to your Outlook calendar. It’s fast, it’s easy, and it can keep you from missing a fun or important activity. For your convenience, we’re including two sets of instructions: one is for desktop Outlook users and the other is for users of the browser-based Outlook 365.

Outlook on Desktop Instructions

Step 1: Find the event you’re going to in Facebook. If you haven’t signed up yet, make sure that you’ve RSVP’d as “Going”.

Step 2: Click on the three dots next to the “Share” button:

Step 3: Click “Export” and select “Save to Calendar” from the pop-up window

Step 4: This will download an .ics file to your computer. If you’re using Chrome, you should see the download begin in the lower left of the browser window.

Step 5: If you’ve got the desktop version of Outlook set as the default calendar on your computer, simply double-click on the .ics file that you just downloaded and the event will automatically appear as a new Outlook event.

Step 6: Hit “Save & Close” in the upper left.

Step 7: Voila! That’s it. You can now locate your Facebook event in Outlook.
