Clarifying the Opportunity

Before the redesign, El Camino’s website was rich in content but lacked the clarity, organization, and accessibility today’s users expect.
With thousands of pages and complex navigation, students struggled to find key information quickly, especially around applying, enrolling, and paying for college.
The marketing team needed a solution that would:
- Improve the user experience and “time to task” for key audiences
- Modernize information architecture and calls-to-action
- Reduce redundant pages while improving accessibility and readability
- Strengthen El Camino’s online brand story and visual appeal

New Brand & Tagline
El Camino and Stamats initiated the project with a comprehensive brand refresh, supported by the tagline “Together. Unstoppable.” Fresh ideas emerged through collaborative workshops such as mood board exercises, surveys, and focus groups.
El Camino’s new, vibrant creative toolkit includes an enlivened brand narrative, brand strategy, and visual/tonal cues such as a new color palette, imagery, typography, iconography, and refined logos.
Stamats helped uncover the college’s authentic promise to its students and community. The unified brand voice became the foundation for the new website.
Building a User-Centric Website Experience
El Camino College and Stamats transformed the digital experience into a recruitment and engagement engine:
- Streamlined content: Reduced total pages by 54%, from 7,800 to 3,600, focusing on prospective-student needs.
- Improved readability: Overall site reading score improved from a C to a B.
- Optimized key journeys: Clear CTAs now guide visitors to next steps with fewer clicks and less friction.
- Responsive and accessible: The new site performs seamlessly across devices and meets accessibility standards.
- Contributor empowerment: Modern Campus CMS templates and content blocks make publishing easier while maintaining visual and editorial consistency.
Five years later, El Camino College’s website is more than a marketing tool; it is a reflection of the college’s mission to empower students to succeed. By combining inclusive storytelling, efficient design, and measurable results, El Camino now offers a digital experience as dynamic and diverse as the community it serves.
