Starting with a Clearer Picture
Dominican University’s website design was dated and inflexible. It relied heavily on left navigation and lengthy, inconsistent menu labels. Overall, the pages lacked a compelling story to connect future Stars to the campus community.
Stamats conducted an in-depth evaluation of the priority pages of Dom’s site, including their homepage experience and key academic programs. User journey feedback and analytics data showed opportunities to improve the website experience across key performance points, including:
- In-depth analytics evaluation
- Content quality
- Site structure and navigation
- Accessibility and readability
- Reliance on PDFs for crucial details
This clarity gave Dom a roadmap to create simpler user journeys, more narrative and strategic content, and a web experience aligned with how students search.
Stamats designed a sleek new homepage, intuitive main navigation, and flexible, student-focused program page templates, all while maintaining the main site. Each template, informed by user behavior, can be repurposed as Dominican University updates the rest of their website. The redesigned page experience reduces reliance on the left nav and offers clear CTAs and strategic shortcuts to guide exploration.

Smarter, Student-Ready Site
Just months after launching their redesign in place, Dominican’s new homepage and program pages are already driving stronger engagement, higher conversions, and better visibility in search. From March to April 2025, 32% more visitors came to their undergraduate program pages, and the pages converted 111% more visitors.
