Small Enhancements. Big Results.

Golden West College partnered with Stamats to transform its admissions and financial aid web experience, turning confusing clicks into clear paths by mapping real student journeys, removing friction, and designing content that helps future students start faster.

Seeing The Site Through Students’ Eyes

GWC’s marketing and outreach team knew their Admissions and Aid pages weren’t serving students the way they should. Pages were organized by internal offices, links didn’t always work, and mobile users struggled to find their next step.

Together, GWC and Stamats audited every click and scroll, pairing analytics and heatmaps with hands-on user testing.

The insights revealed a simple truth: Students weren’t looking for departments—they were looking for direction.

Designing For Action, Not Administration

Guided by real data and student behavior, the team replaced internal categories with clear, student-first language. GWC redesigned the experience around four intuitive journeys:

  • Apply & Enroll
  • Register
  • Tuition & Aid
  • Dual Enrollment

Together, we:

  • Rewrote content in plain, supportive tone
  • Simplified site architecture from six menus to four task-based paths
  • Refreshed visuals with clickable cards, interactive blocks, accordions, and mobile-ready layouts
  • Implemented reusable “bricks” in Cascade for easier updates

This modern admissions hub helps students move from curiosity to confidence. An added bonus? The new design components benefit the entire site.
