Joan Benson Continues to Inspire More Than Stamats Employees
Cedar Rapids, IA – Stamats’ own Joan Benson has become something of a celebrity. Joan has worked for Stamats as the senior editorial strategist for five years. She brings her fun and creative spirit to the office every day. That particular spirit is what inspired a Broadway character, shaped after her. The Broadway play Fun Home features Joan Benson as a young college student. Fun Home, originally a graphic memoir by Alison Bechdel, is up for 12 Tony awards this Sunday, June 7, after being on Broadway less than two months.
Joan’s creativity and exceptional writing skills have allowed her to write three novels, and she is working on a fourth. The sudden popularity has made her think back to her college days.
“It helps me in my work at Stamats because I’m thinking about what college kids want,” said Benson.
