As Vice Provost for Enrollment Management at the University of Kansas, (KU), Matt is responsible for architecting enrollment strategy and systems for the university which includes full oversight over the following functional areas:  Undergraduate Admissions, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Student Information Systems and the Registrar’s Office.

Prior to his appointment at KU, he served as Associate Provost for Enrollment Management at the University of Central Missouri where he also served as a faculty member in the Department of Educational Leadership. There, he was responsible for achieving and evaluating the strategic enrollment management plan for the University, including undergraduate admissions, financial aid and scholarships, academic advising, new student orientation, registration, and records.

He has presented nationally at numerous enrollment management conferences on topics including the effective utilization of data to frame and fuel enrollment management strategy, CRM, and utilizing an enrollment management orientation to enhance the recruitment and retention of undecided and other at-risk populations. Additionally, he has professional experience at Kansas State University, Ohio University, and Western Illinois University.

Melvin earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Central College in Pella, Iowa, his Master of Science in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University and his Doctorate of Education with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration and Educational Leadership from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
