Social Media Entrance Workshop
In this one-day workshop, a Stamats social media strategist will conduct a 6-hour group workshop (or two 3-hour group workshops) to introduce your team to a range of social media, increase their comfort level in social media, and provide a basis for understanding how to use social media in recruiting, marketing, and fundraising. This high-touch workshop will help team members of different experiences gain a shared understanding of prominent social media tools, clarify together the pros and cons of various social media, and begin informed discussion of your institution’s social media strategy.

Recommended for marketing team members, thought leaders, and executives. During the six-hour workshop, participants will:

  • Register for, walk through, and use 3 distinct social tools
    • A social network (e.g., Facebook)
    • An auxiliary service (e.g., RSS feed, blog, microblog, etc.)
    • A bookmarking or differentiated network (e.g., Digg)
  • Brainstorm potential goals
  • Develop a simple social media strategy based on 3 core elements
    • Audience
    • Content
    • Platform

Social Media Strategy Workshop
The Social Media Strategy Workshop is designed for institutions that have already cleared the first hurdle—a shared agreement that social networking should be part of your overall marketing strategy—and now seek guidance on developing a sound social media strategy and plan. In this one-day workshop, a Stamats social media strategist will work closely with your marketing team to educate participants in the fundamentals of social media strategy development and establish a shared understanding of the tools necessary to develop effective social media plans. At the close of the workshop, the Stamats social media strategist will brainstorm with your team the basic outlines of a social media strategy for your institution.

Recommended for experienced marketing team leaders, campus thought leaders, and executives, especially those individuals who are directly responsible for developing and overseeing an institution’s social media program. During the six-hour workshop, participants will:

  • Explore social media opportunities for marketing, recruiting, and advancement
  • Identify institutional goals
  • Develop a basic social media strategy including
    • Specific program goals
    • Available resources
    • A content identity and delivery strategy
    • Points of measurement
