His Role: Vice President and General Manager
His Experience: Bill doesn't just work at Stamats. He is a Stamats. Associated with the company his entire life, Bill embodies the driven creativity that is a Stamats trademark. You don't have to look much further than his college degrees for proof: a Bachelor of Fine Arts with honors from Pratt Institute, a Master of Arts in design from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Master of Fine Arts in printmaking from the University of Iowa.
If you did look further, though, you'd see how Bill turns art knowledge into service. He's especially proud of his work on three directors' boards that serve Cedar Rapids, the city that both Bill and his company call home. He's the current president on the board of the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, and he sits on the board of Art in Public Places. Bill also is a past board member of Indian Creek Nature Center.
His Philosophy: "Stamats matters because it helps colleges and universities meet their marketing goals. That means schools can attract the appropriate students. It also means schools can garner the advancement monies that they need." Bill's job is to keep the whole Stamats engine running. It's growth he's interested in, but not just fiscal. "I'm also after the growth of our offerings to higher education, and the growth of our people."
His Interests: It probably will come as no surprise that Bill likes to make and collect art. These days he spends his time buying contemporary prints and paintings.
